More Information On Fan Motors And Elements
We include fan oven elements here as often, when the fan motor packs up in the oven totally, the fan element can also fail. What happens is that the fan stops turning correctly leading to poor airflow across the element and the element fails.
Besides that the only real failures you get on these are noise and, they can get really noisy, as well as simply going open circuit. The latter is rare, the former where the fan motor goes noisy is very common as the bearings in it start to fail, thus leading to it turning slower and possibly taking the fan element with it. This is why, when we find an oven fan motor noisy, we replace them as soon as possible.
Some oven fan motors can be bought cheap as pattern spares but many aren't worth buying due to poor fitting and poor quality, they can be a pain to fit and be a lot noisier than the original due to cheaper bearings.
Remember when replacing these fan motors that the power must be off and that the screw (where there is one) that holds the fan in place is a reverse threaded one, if you damage the thread then you need a replacement!
Please also bear in mind that if you can't find what you are looking for to contact us as we will be able to source almost any part you require so long as it is still available.
