More Information About This Cooker Hood Switch

Generally when these cooker hood switches fail your cooker hood will be dead, it just won't work at all. It is very rarely the cooker hood motor that is at fault, it is usually the on/off button on these little switch assembly and PCB units that has burnt out.

Replacement is fairly straightforward enough but, as stated above, you do need to solder the new unit into place and the hood MUST be isolated from mains power for this replacement part to be fitted.

It isn't uncommon to find that the short on the PCB has been caused by the ingress of grease and steam vapour to the hood so do make sure that your filters, especially the white grease filter, is okay before refitting the replacement part.
