Multipack5 Four Puriclean II Water Filters UKF8001AXX

Price: £121.03
Model: T 4 x Water Filter UKF800
Weight: 1.00
Manufacturer: Maytag

This spare part is the genuine recommended spare part as supplied by the manufacturer as a direct replacement Save with this multipack deal of four fridge water filters at once.

Puriclean II fridge freezer water filter used in many Admiral and Maytag fridges.

It offers more advanced filtration including MTBE - a contaminant of growing concern which is essentially petrolloeum (and associated compounds), caused through soil contamination. Even a gallon of waste petrol can contaminate a water source for months if it gets into the soil. It also remove chlorine, sediment, heavy metals and lead as per the original Puriclean II specification.

The filter has a six month life and should be changed at regular intervals to ensure good filtration of contaminants and good water flow.

The Puriclean II is officially discontinued, and whilst there is cartridge stock available, it is likely by the end of 2009 that the Puriclean III will be the only option available to replace the Puriclean II filter.

Fridges sold after October 2007 will all be supplied with the new 9001 version as standard.

Smeg, Gaggenau & Other American Fridge Freezer Models

Please note that Maytag manufactured appliances for the brands listed above and, therefore, these filters fit these brands as well and are the original filters although we do find that buying direct can be considerably more expensive for the same water filter.

Some other brands may also use these filters including, Hotpoint and De Dietrich.

Please note that this pack contains four filters

How To Reset The Water Filter Light

Press and hold the lock and light buttons (lock and water on newer fridges) on the dispenser for about 4 seconds, until the indicator light blinks.

Free Timestrip With These Water Filters

Free Timestrip with this water filter With this fridge water filter we include, free of charge, a Timestrip worth £1.49 for each water filter in this pack that allows you to see quickly tell that you are needing a new water filter or to simply see how long the filter that is in the fridge has been there.

The problem with most fridges is that whilst on a fridge at least there is normally some sort of filter change light to tell you when to change the filter it usually won't come on until you actually need to replace the filter. Obviously it is normally a few days before you can get one and swap it over but, if you use the water and ice a lot this can be an inconvenience.

The Timestrip is activated by simply squeezing the bubble on the label and a red line appears almost immediately to confirm that the indicator is active. That's it, you're done!

Safe, simple and dead easy.

You can find more information about Timestrip from this link

About Fridge Water Filters

There are some things that people should be aware of about fridge water filters.

Over the past few years, as fridges with filtered water have become more and more popular, we've also seen a mammoth rise in very cheap and, usually very nasty, fridge freezer water filters coming onto the market. It won't surprise most people to learn that these are mass produced very cheaply in places like China and the quality can be, at best, questionable. Of course there are some good filters that come from the Far East as well, we know as we do use some of them, but they cost significantly more than the really cheap and nasty water filters that we won't sell.

Asides from which we've now had several worrying report of these cheap water filters breaking up and contaminating the water system in some models of fridge freezers, that's not good at all.

The point of a water filter in your fridge is to get good, clean water to drink. Many cheap fridge water filters don't accomplish that.

You can learn much more on this subject, as well as why it is important to regularly change the water filter from this article on the main site

Choosing The Correct Fridge Water Filter

There are, in effect, two ways that fridge water filters are installed, either externally or internally.

Most external water filters are all of the one kind and are pretty much universal, that's the WSF100 type cartridge that has a pipe from your mains water in one side and a pipe out the other to the fridge.

The internal ones can be a lot more interesting.

Most fridge and fridge freezer manufacturers will "brand" their machines for other people so you can save by not buying the, for example, genuine Hotpoint or Smeg water filter and instead buy the Whirlpool one which is much cheaper but, the same water filter. This applies to a good many fridge water filters and if you look closely you can save money on them.
