Longer lifespan for less environmental damage

Like its sibling, the 1607W, this machine is once again outstanding in terms of build quality and performance and is engineered and designed from the outset to maximise the life of the machine. This is done by using higher quality components that are designed to last in excess of 8000 cycles, or over 20 years normal domestic use and by wherever possible, using steel and metal instead of plastic.

Built in Sweden to exacting standards and with the highest possible regard for the environment both in production and in lifespan the care for our environment doesn't stop there. This machine also has A++AA performance as well as many automated features to save energy, which means that the machine works out the optimal performance, so you don't have to.

Intelligent Hot & Cold Fill

At last, a machine that uses hot water but, unlike most of the "dumb" machines that only offer a hot fill on one particular program, this machine was designed to take full advantage of geo-thermal, solar and other renewable energy sources of hot water.

It's clever.

The machine will fill with hot only until it detects that the temperature is approaching the temperature that has been set, then it switches and alternates as required between hot and cold water feeds too reduce or completely remove the requirement to heat the water.

The W288eco is the only machine available in the UK that does this, no other hot fill machine does this or can do it.

Of course, connected to a suitable hot supply and installed in accordance with the guidance, this can reduce the energy figures below (which are given for a cold only fill) by up to 70%. And, the program times are slashed as well.

Better still, if you are planning on installing a renewable hot water system in the future, the hot water function can be switched on or off from the options, you needn't have a hot connection available to use the W288eco.

Outstanding features

Unlike almost every other A rated (or higher) washing machine we've seen the W288eco can complete a normal 40 cottons wash in little over an hour as opposed to the usual two hours or more. Even on cold fill only, with no hot water available.

ISE are so confident in the quality and longevity of this machine that the machines carry a 10 year parts and labour warranty as standard included, so no repair bills for at least a decade, but probably a lot more!

Once again there are some very unique features about this machine that make it very special, asides from being built like a battleship, one such feature is that it is the only machine we have seen with a proper steel subframe which then has four massive shock absorbers for greater stability, even on the likes of wooden flooring excess vibration is soaked up better than any other machine we’ve ever seen.

The door can be opened during a cycle to add things you may have forgotten to add, like a sock that was dropped.

The machine can also be programmed easily to default to either three (as standard) or five rinses. This option is one that allows people that may have sensitive skin, skin allergies or problems with the likes of eczema to have much more rinsing than a standard machine does. And, there's the option of seven rinses to get even more residues out especially for people with sensitive skin.

The W288eco also boasts a door sealing system that effectively means that there is no door bellows (or door seal) as such. The door seals directly onto the tub unit and the door then seals to the tank, this means that the chances of laundry being caught by the seal are almost entirely removed. Asides from protecting the laundry better it also means that the door seal cannot be ripped or damaged as, in the traditional sense, it isn’t there to cause a problem on the W288eco.

Then there’s the bearing unit which was originally used in a Volvo truck and designed to last for over one million kilometres of constant use. This is then backed up by a steel bearing seal cassette that is way superior to any we’ve seen on another washing machine.

Basically, these washing machines are built to be virtually bombproof and we love it!

And, even in light commercial use, the appliance carries a three year parts and labour warranty, an industry first. You can now find ISE machines in regular use on Ministry Of Defence bases, schools, colleges, Premier Travel Inns, HM Prisons and a host of other light commercial uses such as hairdressing salons, pubs, restaurants and even on commercial ships.

What's New

Like the 1607W, the W288eco has an activated drum where different elements of the drum design are used in harmony with one another to give a gentle but thorough wash action. There is a totally new stainless steel drum with the holes designed to gently "push" the laundry into the centre as well as the drum shape itself helping with that purpose. Then we have the radically redesigned paddles that also steer the clothing and have grit escapes on them to cut down on small items of grit, grass blades or suchlike being left in the drum.

In fact, in independent testing the new drum design leaves less "grit" as they call this type of dirt than any other washing machine design in the world.

The design, when coupled with the smart filling, also negates the usual disadvantages when you have a larger drum capacity. And, although the drum is rated as 8kg, it is physically larger than many that have a claimed higher capacity.

There is also a redesigned aesthetic with an all new control panel with a full LCD display.

A new door design which allows much wider opening due to an innovative double hinge.

Hydroactive Drum

The all new unique Hydroactive Drum is a series of different methods within the drum space that overcome all the problems associated with large drum capacities as well as providing the highest level of care for your laundry.

There are major elements to the new drum design that all work in harmony to produce a wash result like no other washing machine provides.

The first is smaller central holes in the middles of the drum which provide very gentle care for your laundry.

The second are the larger diameter holes to the outside of the central strip of smaller holes which allow the escape of larger pieces or dirt and gravel and these larger holes allow better processing of the laundry.

Any dirt or gravel is then also evacuated through the drum lifters by way of special escapes that are integral to the paddles themselves.

Then there is the chamfered edges of the drum that gently pushes your laundry back into the wash area towards the centre of the drum.

This is heightened further by the use of the new unique "hour glass" shaped paddles that gentle move the laundry into the optimum wash position within the drum.

All these elements combine to give a system which, whilst incredibly ingenious are also very simple and relies purely on high quality engineering and design as the laundry is gently moved into the correct position and area to balance the drum incredibly well and provide outstanding wash results.
