Hotpoint is one of Britains most popular and beloved appliance brands but was bought in 2005 by the Indesit Group which one of the biggest producers of domestic appliances in Europe but has now effectively been bought by Whirlpool.
Which means that Hotpoint is now really under the control of the American giant, Whirlpool.
